In reenactments using actors to portray her husband, Marie Crawford demonstrates the many emotional states wives display to hold their husbands - unintentionally back - under different circumstances. They include: being emotionally upset every morning when the husband leaves for work (a ploy used by many newlywed wives) which may not help her husband’s chances for the wanted promotion to office manager; being overzealously female in helping her husband set up and host a poker game in their home; and taking extreme measures to ensure that her husband won’t pass his physical for the draft. But since she knows these ploys hold a husband back, Marie’s real husband is probably happy and successful… or is he? |
