When a little collection of family and friends out to dinner cannot decide who picks up the check, the evening turns stormy. Gathered together to reminisce about the past and bask in their rare ability to indulge each other and remain close, three siblings cause events to unravel when they discover that they have each thrown down a claim to the check. This turn transforms the group into two factions, participants and bystanders, while the transaction gets sorted out. The trio’s inability to see past their family’s distorted views on generosity ruins a perfectly lovely evening for everyone else and counteracts the picture they paint of themselves as the closest family out there. |
