Little Florence Williams’s parents go out to spend the evening after Florence is asleep. Two burglars enter the house and awaken the child. One asks her to show him where the family jewels are kept. She leads him to a closet, while the other makes a search for other valuables. Pointing to a shelf, she tells him he will find the jewels upon it; He turns and reaches for them, she closes the door and locks him in. She remembers the chocolate candy revolver which her father gave her that evening. She secures it and goes after the other burglar. She points the candy weapon at him, and he throws up his hands in terror. She telephones for the police. The burglar overpowers her and forces her underneath a couch. Before he can make his escape, the police enter. He levels the revolver at them and forces them into another room. The parents return home and are confronted by the burglar and his pistol. The imprisoned officers break down the door and lose no time in capturing the burglars. Florence crawls from underneath the couch and shows them where the other thief is held captive. |
