MOM is a short documentary film about a woman, Yuxiao Zhang, who works as a “mother” in an international organization called SOS Children’s Village. The mission of the organization is to adopt children who lost their parents through war, illness and natural disasters. In order to give these children a loving home the organization provide stable, secure and loving care in a family setting with a “mother”. The main character of this documentary is a mother from one of the SOS Children’s Villages in China. As a mother in SOS Children’s Village she can never get married or have her own children. She has raised twenty-one children over 30years since 1986. This documentary gives a chance to the outsiders to know children’s life there and how great the mother is.
