It starts innocently enough with drinks between two friends, Rachel and Ari. Ari recommends to Rachel a recipe currently listed on her ‘board’…and then the truth comes out. Rachel is not on Pinterest. Ari is aghast! Rachel just doesn’t want to get involved in another wasteful time-suck, but Ari protests that Pinterest is full of interesting, useful stuff! And then she shows Rachel a picture of Jennifer Lawrence eating a burrito. And just like that, Rachel is hooked. Her life becomes an out of control ‘Requiem for a Dream’-like spiral of gluten-free silverware, bike sweaters, mason jars, and baby pumpkins, and like so many sad, tortured souls out there she learns the hard way that Pinterest won’t stop until you’re dead. |
