Judith must decide if she’ll pull the plug on her husband Benny McMahan who lies in a persistent vegetative state. However, because of the optimistic Dr. Boyd who claims to have a cure, she keeps him alive. In the meantime Bayliss falls in love with Judith and tries to convince her to move on. This angers Dr. Boyd and he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to keep his patient Benny alive. Preston Reynolds is a successful lawyer who is suddenly terrorized by nightmares and schizophrenic behavior. His wife, Liz, becomes afraid and temporarily leaves him. After talking with a shrink, Preston finds a note from Dr. Boyd telling him that he has kidnapped his wife Liz. Preston seeks out Dr. Boyd. The lives of Judith, Bayliss, Boyd, Preston, and Liz have all dangerously intertwined, and the man with all the answers is Benny McMahan who lies in a vegetative state. As the story unfolds we learn about each character and their truths are discovered. We see the type of people they really are and the secrets they hold. |
