This short doc centers on a fiery, funny NYC park volunteer, Maria Lall, who built a garden on a neglected strip of parkland. She volunteered in the park with Parks Department permission. However, eventually her work, and possibly her larger-than-life personality, runs afoul of this agency. This is the drama that ensued. Maria is an unforgettable character and her story is always interesting and entertaining to watch. It also features a beautiful Spanish guitar score. |
