For one hundred and twenty five years, the Harvard Fencing Team has brought this most combative of sports to the Ivy League, and the team’s athletic achievements have been many. But athletic prowess alone doesn’t explain the singular hold this sport has on its participants. What does it mean to fence for a team, anyway? Isn’t fencing an individual sport? What makes the bonds among this group of people run so deep and last for generations of fencers? This film explores this unique sport’s fascinating appeal, and how at one University, for 125 years, there really hasn’t been an ‘i’ in team. |
