The monastic community at St John’s Abby has commissioned the first handwritten and illuminated bible in more than 500 years. Using medieval techniques and contemporary themes, this is said to be a bible for the modern world, and one that will last for thousands of years. A select group of calligraphers and artist including Vashon Island’s Susanne Moore have embarked on this undertaking which will take more than a decade to complete. |
