Depicts the last days of a modern black Messiah, born in South Central LA. This urban twist on the ancient epic of Christ begins on the night of His death sentence. Because of His controversial liberation theology, Emmanuel (the Christ character) is seen as a threat, and quickly branded a terrorist by the right-wing ‘United States of Rome.’ The film climaxes with his sacrificial ‘dead man’s walk’ to execution and supernatural resurrection. |
