This documentary provides a perspective of ski patrol from the patients point of view. When the ski patrol helps an injured person off the mountain, treats them in the First Aid Room, and sends them off to the hospital, the patroller rarely hears from the patient about the outcome after the have left. In the video, several patients tell their side of the story to tell patrollers ‘What Happens After’. The documentary uses the concept of prosocial motivation. Volunteers in public service organizations are strongly motivated by helping others. We feel good about ourselves when we help others. We find more meaningfulness in our work and hearing from those we help provides confirmation of that meaningfulness. |
