In 2011 Thailand suffered its worst flood in over 50 years. An area the size of Denmark was inundated for over three months. This film grew organically out of a number of disaster relief trips to four central Thai provinces. It is less about the facts of flooding and the struggle to keep dry than about the emotions of the people caught up in this crisis and their responses. This documentary seeks to give time to the voices, sights and activities of the flood zone, in the process revealing country’s cultural heritage and deeper beliefs and preoccupations. |
