“Screenbreaker” is an independent short set in a role-reversed world where thrivers of geek culture [video games, comic books, anime, etc.] are the paragon models while those who love sports culture [tennis, football, athleticism, etc.] are ostracized. The film follows Tavis Radke, the unpopular quiet kid who secretly wants to play tennis. His sister, Anya, is a well-known video game competitor and their father, David, is an avid oppressive fan of video game culture. Tavis plans to keep his yearning for sports a secret - that is until he discovers underground tennis player, Riley Lightning! Together, the two learn to not only master the game, but to come out to the world with their hobby. |
