Dundas Street is narrated from the perspective of an elderly woman who is unable to adapt to an urban landscape. The story takes place in the city of Toronto, decades after the woman has become a refugee from her homeland, Poland, post WWII. The film follows the woman’s efforts to find meaning in a city that she feels is alienating, and tumultuous. In exploring the flaws and humanity of Dundas Street, she creates a spiritual connection with a Maltese fruit merchant and imagines the possibility of escaping with him. |
