On the day that the de-orbited Russian space station “Mir” re-enters the Earth atmosphere, two young electricians on a routine call unexpectedly confront their ex-classmate and friend, now a powerhouse political consultant, who came back from Moscow to Siberia to work on a gubernatorial campaign of a nationalist politician. As initial hostility slowly evaporates, she offers them a chance to make some much-needed cash. However, these are not the good old days, so the offer comes with some strings attached. In exchange, they will have to do some work for her firm. The job involves penetrating the office of a rival politician posing as electricians to wiretap the premises. Will they do it? Personal and political agendas collide to dramatically limit the options for the first generation to come of age in a free market Russia, where nothing is actually free. |
