A graphic presentation of Croatian traditional pig slaughter festivity, which has recently become illegal in Croatia as a result of the country’s preparation for the membership in the European Union. Although this dying tradition is presented with a touch of dark humor and irony, the film is also a criticism of Croatian government’s policy of hasty adoption of the EU laws without thinking about potentially devastating consequences for Croatian family farms. |
