The film, like the column I wrote, was inspired by my desire to somewhere pay tribute to one beautiful young life tragically ended far too soon, and to honor one family’s brave ordeal. I remember sitting in that packed church on the day of Gianna’s funeral and actually being able to feel the pain, grief, and heartbreaking sorrow of the entire congregation of people who gathered to show their love and support. It also made me think of other close friends who were unjustly snatched from life far too soon. At the end of all that pain and heartache, I like to believe some hope still exists: that love transcends death. That is what my film is about. |
