Every summer, the extended Gravell family gathers for a weekend at a seasonal cottage (known casually as Starr Farm) on Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. People come to eat, drink, swim, catch up and reminisce for a short three days, after which the farm goes silent for the rest of the year, leaving only traces of activity. Filmmaker Carson Lund’s observational cine-poem uses this annual event as a vehicle for contemplating the relationships between time, family, and nature, as well as his own place within it. |
