Shortly after arriving in Normandie a small troupe of allied soldiers gets under attack by Germans. The only one to survive is christian translator Jones. Tormented by what he has seen and let happen he retreats into the woods. While the battles go on Jones lives secluded trying to forget. Yet time and again soldiers - friend and foe alike - cross his pass making it impossible to deny reality. Cruelty is a movie full of great pictures and emotions, hope, sympathy, hate, revenge, mourning. A movie that found its inspiration in ‘Apocalypse Now’ and ‘Full Metal Jacket’ and focuses on human interaction and the emotional impact of war.
