The widowed mother of Bholanath gets re-married and moves with a widower, who already has a son. The couple pass away, leaving Bhola at the mercy of his cruel step-brother, who abuses and beats him everyday. Bhola’s sister-in-law always sides with her husband, and often refuses to prepare any food for Bholanath. One day he borrows two Rupees from his friend, Balasaheb, and purchases a winning lottery. He scoffs at his step-brother and sister-in-law and sets off to Bombay to collect Twenty Five Lakh Rupees - not realizing that soon he will at the mercy of greedy as well as fake cops, and a gangster, who will do anything to take possession of the ticket. And the arrival of the seemingly repentant step-brother and his wife will only serve to complicate poor Bholanath’s life ever more. |
