Without Words is a story that takes place in 1933, New York City. Walter Koenig was a star in the era of silent films. However, with the advent of sync-sound technology he couldn’t make the transition to “talkie” films (films with dialogue) because he is a mute. Almost overnight, he finds himself no longer a star but a lowly stagehand at a local theater. He spends his days taking care of the theater and his nights reminiscing about the joy he felt when he was still acting. It is here where he meets Grace Peru, a beautiful young actress starring in a new play directed by the respected French director Mr. Chevalier. She sees something special in Walter and becomes determined to help him, but he must find the courage within himself to rise to the challenge and become the star he was born to be.
