At a small restaurant in Anywhere, USA, breakfast is served at 8 a.m. This is a given we may rely upon, no matter what’s going on in the larger world around us, or in our more mundane existence. Everyday, no matter what the weather, in sickness and in health, the regulars like George, the child-man, Jackie and Bob, the perpetually bickering lovers, and all the rest, come to this restaurant, so they may better face life. For one day, we are invited into a world where conversation; silent or otherwise, threatens explosion and stolen looks might very well kill. |
