2000 Nordestes, or its English (and well-translated) festival title “Too Much Brazil” is a 70-minute, feature-length documentary about Northeastern Brazilians at the turn of the 21st century. From the states of Ceará to Bahia, passing through Rio Grande do Norte and the states of Paraíba and Pernambuco, the film surveys the richest and oldest regional traditions influenced by the most modern mass culture in the era of globalization. |
