Global narratives of colonial conquest and exploration intersect with the personal experiences of the filmmaker as he migrates westward into a landscape completely unknown to him. The first entry tells of strange encounters with animatronic Indians, performances of displaced ancient traditions, and mass pilgrimages to sacred sights of power and spectacle. |
