An excellent touch was the paintings at the start. āThe Thingā and āThe Gunslingerā being two I recognised. And the drug store is called āKingāsā.
I love āHost of Seraphimā by Dead Can Dance, and itās use was perfect in this movie.
The end is awful, but we canāt have happy endings all the time.
The bookās ending was completely different; it was ambiguous with the hope of help still arriving. They shouldāve stuck to the bookās ending IMO. I donāt watch this ending anymore, but I still love the film.

Forgot how exciting this story is. I should watch another Stephen King movie - they are all so good.
Oh they butchered Dreamcatcher though - stick to the book.
When I first saw it, I was upset. Now I love it, simply for the story it does tell. Obviously, the book is much better, but even with this adaption of The Mist, the book is better (although I love what they do in the film adaptation here). Stephen King writes characters in a very well fleshed out, complex way, and his horror is one of a kind in itās complexities; Iāve never seen anything adapted to film that was entirely spot on due to this. I feel lucky to have his books.
best horror movie of the past 20 years
Listening to the loons call on the lake in the beginning of the movie takes me back to my childhood. My Uncle had a house on a lake. It was called Lake Clear near Eganville, Ontario. They were some of the best summers of my life. I can not believe I havenāt watched this movie until today. I shall give a review when Iām finished. I couldnāt help but share that memory with you all. I wish you all a warm and cozy Sunday. :)
Yes Iām sure I will. Iām not even 20 mins in and Iām rooting for the actors already. Fantactic character building and the suspense is killing me already. It has a Hitchcockian feel to it for sure.

I love a good creature feature and this is the bomb of them all. From beginning to end my skin was crawling. The creatures were very realistic. The holy roller M.G.H. played her role so well she was an excellent antagonist which is a very different role for her to play. The little boy was even convincing me. This is a great watch. In fact Iāll watch it again in time. āāāāā
Feels like a Silent Hill copy and the ending is hilarious.
Movie was not good. Lots of talking. Very little showing of the monsters..
By that metric, āJawsā was a terrible movie. I think you need to reevaluate your criteria for judgment.
