Elizabeth Short, a local bar woman, has always been known as a flirt. One night news reaches the bar of a local bridge being blown up. It is speculated that it is the work of a German spy in the area. That night she continues her affair with local married man Charles Daily. That night, she discovers a document that implicates that Charles is the spy. He catches her in the act and murders her. After an air-raid bombing her places her body in the ruins of a blown up house and plants the documents on her. She is found, and the whole town believes that Elizabeth was the spy all along. |
