The film portrays a delusional waiter, Neal, who believes he is the famous Russian dancer and choreographer Nijinsky. When Neal performs some of Nijinsky’s adventurous and provocative choreography in public, he is forcibly admitted to a psychiatric hospital. This action mirrors Nijinsky’s real life given that he spent the last thirty-five years of his life in insane asylums. Neal leads fellow patients and psychiatrists into an analysis of another kind. His illusions can change their reality. |
