From the time Emily was born, she was raised with the most love from her parents. They are a very close family with very little wants or needs. Emily’s father Steve, is a successful stockbroker and loves his wife and daughter. He has never missed a day bringing home little gifts for the two of them as well as planning outings and exciting things for them to do together on his day’s off. Emily’s mother Liza is a loving housewife who enjoys cooking great meals and baking cookies and cakes for her Husband and daughter. Being an only child, Emily has the best of everything. Her parents raised her with love and trust, hoping she will always make the right choices in everything she does. One snowy evening, Emily’s mother is preparing a surprise birthday meal for her husband . He will be home at 7:00pm, at 6:00pm she remembered she forgot to make the cake. As time draws near, she needs to get to the store to pick up a birthday cake. Emily is fourteen years old watching television with her friend Diane who lives down the street. Liza, not wanting to bother the girls, she tells them to remain in the house until she returns. It is bitterly cold outside and the snow is beating hard against the windows of the house as Liza puts on her coat, hat and gloves. Emily turns to her mother and says, “see you soon mommy” not knowing it would be the last time she ever sees her mother again.
