Everyone strives for attention from those they look up to. EVENT 17 is the story of a teenager’s desire for paternal acceptance, along with an internal struggle to be independent. A son feels that his father puts more emphasis on his own corporate successes rather than on focusing on witnessing his son’s milestones. The father has continually let his son down, both physically and emotionally. Now, as the son prepares for a momentous event, he questions whether or not his father will let him down once again. A sense of estrangement overcome both parties, and the father finally realizes the errors he has made in the past and attempts to make up for them by one small acknowledgment. |
