Filmed around a dude-ranch party setting this musical-featurette from Universal opens with Cliffie Stone and his band playing “The Ain’t the Blues,” while kittenish Buckie Tibbs follows with “Going Steady.” Billy Strange then sings “Anytime” and Molly Bee adds “Too Young to Tango.” Tennessee Ernie Ford does his “Bright Lights and Blond-Haired Women” followed by Gene O’Quinn doing “Pinball Millionaire.” Herman the Herman, using pots and pans, does an instrumental version of “Oh, Susanna” before Molly Bee and Tennessee Ernie duet on “Don’t Start Courtin’ in a Hotrod.” The finale brings back Cliffie Stone’s band with “Hometown Blues.” |
