In the year 2029, the ability to upload a person’s consciousness into a computer was discovered. People’s minds could be uploaded to an integrated cloud on the internet and communicate with loved ones via this virtual cloud. But after talks, the government axed this project as a “Privation of Humanity” and it has remained illegal in the UK ever since. “Uploader” takes place a year after these events and follows the story of Tom and Aaron, two young adults that sell the illegal products (Uploader) to the public, the public being relatives of ill or dying ones, desperate to save their families. This short-film follows the corruption and difference between the controlling government and the general public.
