Ah, David Paymer! How I have missed him singing, “Hello!”.

Yet, while nostalgia may draw you in, it’s Crispin Glover’s always-on-the-verge-of-exploding mannerisms that keep you watching and waiting to find out who will snap first. Mix in a dab of Joe Piscopo, sprinkle with a cameo by the ‘60s Laugh-in co-host Dick Martin, and stir in just a breath of vermouth and you’ve got the ingredients for a very droll workplace comedy that makes you want to run off with someone’s red swingline stapler! A solid 3.5/5 from me.

Melville’s story is a work of art. Glover’s interpretation was to turn Bartleby into a super creep. It’s an interesting spin, but I by far prefer the original.
