Sorting Facts is a personal documentary/essay about the 1992 Los Angeles Riots that ultimately explores the relationship of history to memory and the specificity of culture. Building on excerpts from journals, found footage and photographs, the film combines subjective narrative with official history to question traditional methods of writing history and making historical documentary. |
