In this adoption of a short story by Ethel Wilson, we learn the story of the fishing boat, the Effie Cee, captained by Capt. Findlay Crabbe as it is headed home for the holidays. Along the way, they pick up a native boy who needs to go to a hospital and the boat is hit by a storm. In the tension of that crisis, decisions are made that irreversibly alter the fate of the crew and their loved ones. |
