For Makoto, to create an imaginary boyfriend was the only way to overcome her grief that devastated her six years ago when the accident happened. She has a real boyfriend now and seems to be leading a normal life. But the empty feeling that started since the horrible accident continues to haunt her, preventing her from trusting and connecting deeply with other people.
