Check Date, an underdog love story is a stop-motion animated short film about loyalty and love. The story is set in a chess game, where fateful lovers must struggle with cultural and social barriers to be together. The action starts when a black pawn breaks the “rules”, falling in love with the besieged white queen, which is being attacked by the black king words such as ‘loyalty”, “heritage”, and “betrayal” give him an unexpected pause of caution He is, of course, a similarly colored soldier of the same chess-nation as the King.
