This adaptation of H.E. Bates short story ‘Never’ focuses on one character suffering from agoraphobia. The main character Lauren, 25, is unable to experience the life she wishes to lead due to this affliction that makes what we may perceive as mundane tasks, difficult. Going outside is a real challenge for Lauren, particularly by herself. She lives at home with her father, who despite being aware of Lauren’s difficulties is unaware of how best to deal with them. Lauren’s agoraphobia was triggered by the death of her mother. |
