After years of painstaking efforts to find her unknown, long-lost daughter since the dark times of the Nazi occupation of Greece, the affluent shipowner, Karanikas, finally manages to find her whereabouts. However, fate has other plans in store for the weary father. As a result, Despina—an impecunious bagel seller who struggles to eke out an existence, and Karanikas’ flesh and blood—finds herself from rags to riches, trying her best to acclimatise to her new position as the shipping company’s manager. Of course, this unexpected change doesn’t sit well with the firm’s executives, who are bent on making Despina fail. Will the lively shipping tycoon make it happen, and, in the process, find the man of her dreams?
