This film short 20:20 explores algorithms and their omniscient but shrouded role in surveillance in contemporary British society. In 20 x 20 second cryptic moving image vignettes we see the imagery of surveillance juxtaposed with the language of mathematics: word and picture are conflated. Image processing techniques found in video surveillance are used to heighten a sense of disquiet . We contemplate the fact that algorithms - and those that make them - are at the heart of our controlled society. |
