After a mental breakdown, a young woman looks for help from a Psychologist and tells him about a recurring nightmare she keeps having. In this dream she is an innocent, virginal girl (the epitome of light) and is hunted through a German expressionistic world by a dark shadow. She has to realize with the help of this Psychologist, that both the girl and the shadow are a part of her subconscious mind and that she must face the part of her hunting her to be able to free herself from the nightmare. German Expressionism mainly inspires the style of the film as mentioned above. It is often linked to Psychoanalysis and the mental breakdown which starts the narrative is also rooted in Freud’s theories. |

yellow_rose1 : Not bad. Much of it has been viewed on social media, which I was not surprised.
