She is suddenly very uncertain about the long-term potential of her relationship and self-worth, after remembering the tragic death of her sister, Jackie (Selena Brown), on this particular night, by her own husband. Nadine and her late sister, Jackie, has met during her dreams, in the past, but for nothing as pressing as this. Her sister, Jackie enjoyed walking and sitting in the park, which is where Nadine always meets with her. Jackie peacefully appears to Nadine and that’s when all of the worries and personal attacks from Jackie’s marriage is exposed. However, by early morning, Nadine and her sister, Jackie, appears to have resolved those issues. The escalation of an alarm sounding from Nadine’s phone, in the dream world, encourages Jackie to give her sister the ultimate words of advice. Jackie forces her sister, Nadine, to close her eyes and repeat the phrase, “My sister’s death does not dictate my future”. As Nadine repeats the phrase continuously, Jackie gets up, walks away, disappear from sight. Nadine wakes up to her alarm clock in her bedroom. She finds herself repeating the same phrase that her sister forced her to say in the dream. She opens a box with an engagement ring and stares down at it as her hopeful fiancé watches on, commenting on her talkative-night sleep. What will Nadine’s final decision be? Will Nadine put on the engagement ring as a sign of accepting the marriage proposal? Or, give it back to her long-time boyfriend, Jimmy, as a sign of rejecting the marriage proposal? |
