Kura San and Toyo want to marry, but Kura San’s greedy father prevents their union due to Toyo’s poverty. Toyo leaves Japan for the United States to take over his uncle’s business, telling Kura San to wait for him. While he is away, Kura San’s father hides Toyo’s letters and tells her Toyo is now married. The despondent Kura San becomes a geisha and while modeling for an American artist, is seduced by him. Ashamed, she commits suicide. Toyo discovers this and decides to avenge his beloved by seducing the artist’s bride, Anne, before killing the artist himself. |
