Details:

In 2010, the UN passed a resolution affirming that everyone has the right to clean drinking water and proper sanitation. Yet, unsafe water causes 4 billion cases of diarrhea each year, and results in 2.2 million deaths, a stark statistic primarily comprised of children under the age of five (WHO). To address this important and pressing issue, this short documentary film explores the challenges that marginalized communities in the global south face to access water, a fundamental yet commonly denied basic human right. Featuring the grassroots solutions emerging from 16 NGOs in India and Indonesia, H2OPE urges us to consider our impact on the world through that which connects us all: water.
