There was a LOT of loud sound effects, which after a while is annoying. It started well, but but lost itself midway. It became slow-paced and fell into the cliche circle of this genre. it just fizzled out. And that’s unfortunate because the director managed to set some creepy moments, but didn’t seem to know where to go with it. The characters did lots of slow-walking or running from room to room. Maggie Q.’s character got on my nerve. I wish the director spent more time developing the storyline of the family, than focusing on the obvious descent of Alice into insanity. That bugged me. So much potential wasted. The acting was good though, and it was well shot. But at least, it was watchable. And that’s better than nothing for me nowadays. 5/10 stars.
