Martine Lancelot has filmed the most significant moments of the rehearsals of the the play “Enluminures autour des minutes du procès de Gilles de Rais” in the cellars of the former “Auberge de l’Aigle d’Or”, now the Théâtre d’Essaion, in the historical Paris district called “Le Marais”. The director, Francis Sourbié, questions himself about how to represent the figure of Gilles de Rais, both a great military man (he was one of the companions of Joan of Ark) and one of the worst criminals in the world’s history. |
