Edgar’s family badly wants to adopt a baby , but he is dead-set against it. Florence borrows the infant son of her next-door neighbor and leaves the infant in a basket with a note from a fictitious single mother. Edgar initially calls the authorities, but by the time they arrive, he has grown attached to the baby boy and tells the social worker that it was all a mistake. When the baby needs to be fed in the middle of the night and Edgar has to make him a bottle of milk, he finds that fatherhood is not as easy as he thought. |
