Si Destinu - Her Destiny reflects a concern over the issue of female genital mutilation, putting it in a context of real life, sensitive characters and approaching it thoughtfully in order to rethink and reevaluate the tradition and to see that, just like us human beings, traditions can change. This is a film whose cinematic language is full of symbolism, grown both out of the secretive Fanado ritual and of questions and concerns about this theme. The film intends above all to be reflective. |
