Day after day he sits with a book on his lap in the living room of their worn-out apartment. An accident left him crippled for life and there is nothing he can do but while the time away in front of the window. The cat stretches himself out next to the vase of carnations on the windowsill. Every now and then he glares at the man with what seems to be a mocking stare. They are both waiting for his wife to arrive at home. The cat’s effortless deftness makes him acutely aware of his confinement to the wheelchair. The growing distance between him and his wife, together with her obsession with the cat, slowly awakens a catastrophic jealousy inside of him. |
