This film has a top notch cast that all, as in each and every one of them, turned in a great performance. Billy Bob Thornton put a lot of his heart into the picture and it certainly shows. His performance as Karl was completely polished, he was perfect in the role. Billy Bob is also accredited with the writing and the directing of this picture. Skyehawk is so correct calling this an Excellent film.
This was a great film Billy Bob should have gotten an Oscar for that performance, def worth it and it was good to see John Ritter another soul gone to soon
He won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, which is pretty good…and he did get nominated…. can’t remember who won that year.. I think Jack Nicholson in As good as it gets.
Mr. thorton made him self a really good movie to bad it didn’t get recognition as such.
Where the heck did Billy Bob come up with that character ? anyway after watching this a couple times i can do a perfect impression of Karl Childers, apparently Sling Blade spoke to me, you all better proceed with caution !

sure were a good flick hmm hmm i reckon peoples gots to like that Billy Bob cuz he be a good actor hmm hmmm. Now i gots a cravin fer sum biscuits and french fried poo-taters hmm hmm
