Set in 1934, at a small southern farm home, a middle aged, impoverished woman, Lydia, has an unexpected run-in with a house burglar, Silas. In the course of the robbery, Lydia’s husband unexpectedly comes home. On pain of death, she agrees to help Silas escape out the back while her husband is sleeping. Over a bowl of soup, they strike up an odd alliance as both of their situations unfold. A proposition is made, and both of their lives change forever. |
